Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom made aligners to gently guide your teeth into a straighter position, without the look of traditional metal braces. Your Invisalign Journey
Treatment begins with a consultation and digital scan, allowing your dentist to create a personalised plan and show you a preview of how your teeth could move over the course of treatment. You will then receive a series of clear aligners, each worn for around one to two weeks before moving on to the next in the series.
Aligners are removable, so you can take them out to eat, drink and clean your teeth as normal, though we recommend wearing them for the majority of the day for the best results. Your dentist will see you regularly throughout treatment to check your progress and make sure everything is moving as planned.
Is Invisalign Right For Me?
Invisalign can treat a wide range of alignment concerns, from mild crowding and gaps to more complex bite issues, though not every case is suitable for clear aligners. Your dentist will assess your teeth and discuss whether Invisalign, or an alternative option such as fixed braces, would work best for your particular situation.
Wearing your aligners as recommended plays a big part in how smoothly treatment progresses, so we will give you clear guidance on wear time and care instructions to help you get the most from your treatment plan.
How does Invisalign compare to traditional braces?

Will Invisalign affect the way I speak?
You may notice a slight change to your speech in the first few days as your tongue adjusts to the aligners, but most people find this settles quickly. Practising reading aloud can help you adapt more comfortably during the early stages of treatment.
Is Invisalign suitable for teenagers?
Yes, there is a version of Invisalign designed specifically for teenagers, with features to support growing smiles and compliance indicators to help track wear time. Your dentist can discuss whether this could be a suitable option for your teenager.
What happens if I lose or damage an aligner?
If an aligner is lost or damaged, please contact us as soon as possible. Depending on where you are in your treatment, we may advise you to move onto the next aligner in the series or wear a previous one temporarily while a replacement is arranged.
Do I need to change my diet while wearing aligners?
Because aligners are removable, you can take them out to eat and drink as normal, so there is no need for major changes to your diet. We do recommend cleaning your teeth before putting your aligners back in, to help maintain good oral hygiene throughout treatment.
